Third Party Assignment Due Monday

Each of the third party candidates pictured here have been important factors in Presidential campaigns. George Wallace (1968), John Anderson (1980), Ross Perot (1992, '96) and Ralph Nader have all made gallant (and maybe quixotic) attempts to shatter the duopoly enjoyed by the Republicans and Democrats.

Using the Election Atlas link, check out the popular and electoral vote for each of these elections.
1. Make a table that explains the percentage of popular and electoral votes that each candidate received.
2. Do a little research on each candidate and then explain who they hurt in each election.
3. Do you think that they made a difference? Briefly explain each situation.
